My top new dramas (April Edition)
April comeback!! ~~ See what I did there? Yes? No? ow T_T Anyways, jokes aside, let's see what this month has to offer shall we?
5. Chinese Hero Zhao Zi Long (2016, China)

Starring Girls Generation's Im Yoona (Love Rain), Lin Geng Xin (Legend of Dance) and Kim Jeong Hoon (Goong) the drama is about Zhao Zi Long, a great military general who lived in the late Eastern Han Dynasty and early Three Kingdoms period. With unparalleled fighting skills, courage, and charisma, Zhao Zi Long initially served the great warlord Zan Gong Sun but switched alliances to serve as a member of the famed Five Tiger Generals. But when Zhao Yun becomes embroiled in a love triangle with the beautiful Xiaohou Qing Yi and another great warrior, Gao Ze, will he discover that battles of the heart are the most dangerous of all? - MDL
I'm a sucker for historicals, I've enjoyed Yoona's acting in her precious dramas and I'm very into chinese Culture and history at the moment so this was a instant add to my to-watch list. The synopsis doesn't really give away too much about the plot. I'm guessing it'll be a historical war-driven story with some cute romantic moments here and there. 60 episodes guarantees either an Epic journey or 60 hours of hell, guess I'll have to wait and see haha. While Zhao Zi Long is fighting the battle of the heart, I'll do my own battle - the battle of finding subbed videos of this drama -.-*.
4. Entertainer (2016, South Korea)
Title: 딴따라
Genre: Business, Comedy, Drama, Romance
Episode: 16
Broadcast Period: April 20th - June 9th
Starring Ji Sung (Kill Me Heal Me), Girls' Day's Hyeri (Reply 1988), CNBlue's Minhyuk (The Heirs) and Chae Jung Ahn (Prime Minister and I), Entertainer is about the assembling of a ragtag musical band. Ji Sung will play the role of a former manager at an agency handling the nation’s top singers, but who is now the CEO of an agency repping the most pathetic rookies. Through various struggles and incidents, he’ll learn to become “a genuine manager. - MDL
"Entertainer is at nr 4? Mina, you must be insane!", some of you may say. But I'll be honest; I'm super nervous about this drama. I wasn't the biggest fan of Producers, and for some reason this drama is giving me the same kind of vibes, but I'm not going to judge beforehand. I'm just saying I'm hoping I'll like it because if I don't end up liking it, it'll be the first Ji Sung drama that I'll dislike and...yeah I just don't want that to happen!! So yeah, this could turn out to be a masterpiece, or a complete piece of BS, but just to be on the safe side I decided to rank this drama as nr 4.
3. The Flower In Prison (2016, South Korea)
Title: 옥중화
Genre: Historical, Law, Melodrama
Episodes: 50
Broadcast Period: April 30th - October 16th
Starring Go Soo (Golden Empire), Jin Se Yeon (Doctor Stranger, Bridal Mask) and Jung Joon Ho (Sweet Savage Family) the drama is about Lee Seo Won who is born in prison and who helps people unfairly accused, using Waeji-bu, the private litigation system in Joseon. - MDL
they have less than 15 days to present us with a proper drama poster. Just saying. <_<. Posters really matter when it comes to promoting a drama; especially when the synopsis is this vague. If it weren't for the fact that Go Soo is in it, and that the actual trailer looked fantastic, I don't Think I'd have had the interest to check this one out. I don't really understand the Jin Se Yeon hate that is going on right now. She's definitely not on my top favorite actress list but I wouldn't call her acting a disaster either. She's still Young, she can improve, but I do admit that perhaps a main role in a 50 eps drama alongside big names like Go Soo...is a bit...too much? But maybe I'm wrong. I'm sure the scriptwriters didn't just put her in there "just because". The story seems like it'll be more plot-driven than character driven so we shall see how that'll go.
2. Blue Veins (2016, Hong Kong)
Title: 殭/The Vampire
Genre: Action, drama, supernatural

Starring Cheng Kevin (Eye In The Sky), Tse Kay and Chan Grace (Captain of Destiny) Blue Veins is a new drama from TVB. For the next 500 years, Ying Wuet Tseuk kept his identity hidden and secludes himself in the city, spending sleepless nights managing a late-night food hall. Skilled in martial arts, Ying Wuet Tseuk also operates a martial arts training hall and accepts two disciples under his wing. Ying Wuet Tseuk is in love with forensic scientist Lam Mung Nam, a vampire who had her memories and powers completely sealed away. Unaware of her vampiric identity, her only remaining power is the ability to revive the dead for one minute. This is probably the first time I've shown this much interest in a HongKong drama. I can't say I've seen a lot of them, the reason being the near-impossible access to english subtitles among other things; I haven't seen any of these actors before, but with an synopsis like that I'm prepared to throw myself into the unknown! *_* I'm a bit iffy about the quality of the drama and if it'll be able to live up to my expectations, but I'll definitely ive this one a go!
1. Master: God of Noodles (2016, South Korea)
Title: 마스터-국수의 신/Master of Revenge
Genre: Drama, Melodrama,

Broadcast Period: April 27th - June 30th
Starring Chun Jung Myung (Reset, Heart To Heart), B1A4's Baro (God's Gift - 14 Days), Jo Jae Hyun (Punch), Gong Seung Yeon (Six Flying Dragons), Jung Yoo Mi (Six Flying Dragons) and Lee Sang Yeob (Bluebird House) Master: God of Noodles is a drama based off of the popular manhwa by Park In Kwon and is about a man who learns how to make noodles for revenge.
What is it with April and lack of official good-looking Posters? Seriously?? This drama is due to air "soon" and even if I try to google the name, there is not even a single poster; besides these super-cool-looking Pictures, that are actually from the trailer itself. Nice trick drama. Almost fooled me <_<. Bitter feelings and random pun-jokes on MDL about this drama aside, this is definitely my most anticipated drama of the month. Why? Because this guy will definitely strangle his enemies to death using noodles! Okay sorry, not sorry. Jokes aside more jokes, I love food, and I enjoy cooking, but wouldn't I sit through 20 episodes just for food-porn. However, if there is something food-dramas have taught me, or rather if there is something kdrama King Of Baking has taught me, it is that one shouldn't take food dramas lightly. They will most definitely not be about just food. There will definitely be some crazy shit going on in this one, and I'm all in for crazy melodrama plottwists. The cast looks stellar as well, I'm a bit disappointed that Jung Yoo Min didn't land the main role, but whatever, I'm just happy the Six Flying Dragon's badass ladies are getting the recognition they deserve! Time to kick some ass and make noodles. Woop woop!
